Following successful shows at NEC Birmingham Falconer Print and Packaging is exhibiting, in London, for the very first time.
We will be showcasing our brand new luxury packaging and innovative designs. Aimed at a wide range of sectors and markets, including design led packaging for brands in cosmetics, giftware, drinks, luxury confectionery and healthcare, all encompassing added value options and finishes.
Our patented ‘fold flat rigid box’ design created by Concept Packaging, has enabled us to produce a strong, striking product that competes with a rigid box design, whilst giving the added value and quality finish of a litho printed carton, that is, and can be enhanced by further embellishments.
It gives all round environmental appeal, as its fold flat format results in a significant reduction in transport and logistics costs and therefore improving the carbon footprint of the product itself.
Please come and see our new innovations and what Falconer has to offer the packaging buyer, designers and brand owners at: Packaging Innovations, STAND F10, Olympia, West London. Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September 2015.
If you require any more details about the exhibition, registration or Falconer, please contact me, John Sherwood, directly on either 01422 314526 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Pre-press and proofing upgrades
Further Investment has resulted in upgrades to pre-press proofing systems enabling the production of higher quality proof matching, and further innovation with the ability to proof directly onto metallised materials.
Further investment and innovation at Falconer Print and Packaging has resulted in marketing and production of a patented ‘fold flat rigid box’ design.
This design, created by Concept Packaging, has enabled us to produce a strong, striking product that competes with a rigid box design whilst giving the added value and quality finish of a litho printed carton, that is, and can be, enhanced by further embellishments.
It gives all round environmental appeal as its fold flat format, results in significant reduction in transport and logistics costs, improving the carbon footprint of the product itself.
This follows on from our continued success with the integrated Braille application, verification, detection and dot scan, at final gluing operation, of pharmaceutical packaging, which was showcased last year.
The continued innovation at Falconer supports its ethos of producing high quality packaging, in the most cost effective manner possible, to meet the demands of all our customers.
The complete service for all printed folding carton, pharmaceutical and luxury packaging needs, giving added value to the customer.
Following on from last year’s successful show, Falconer Print and Packaging will once again be at packaging innovations at the NEC Birmingham.
This year the show is being held on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th February 2014.
As before we will be showcasing our extensive range of print, folding cartons, design (both surface and constructional) and quality produced here at Elland across all our packaging market sectors.
Come and see the developments we have made in the design function of our Cosmetic and Giftware sectors, producing new ideas to give cost effective alternatives, and shelf presence to the rigid packaging market, but with the quality of printed cartons. This complements, with further investments, the growth in our Pharmaceutical sectors.
As featured last year Falconer Print and Packaging was the first carton printer in the UK to install a Diana X folder gluer with in-line Braille unit, incorporating a Leary Braille scanner. Come and see what this can now do for you.
It checks the accuracy of braille, on every carton passing through, whilst maintaining optimum running speeds. Our, verified, ejection and detection systems ensure complete security too.
Our off-line dot scanner checks and ensures braille dot and dot heights are correct, consistent and meet stringent industry standards.
This is complemented with our, brand new, in-house Braille tooling production facility which saves considerable origination cost. So if you purchase packaging or are a packaging technologist for pharmaceuticals, healthcare, vet products, cosmetics, luxury confectionery, giftware; or you wish to see what Falconer has to offer the packaging buyer, come and see us at: packaging innovations, stand E9, NEC, Birmingham on 26th and 27th February.
If you require any more details about the exhibition, registration or Falconer please contact John Sherwood or call 01422 373377
Our commitment to investment continues with work starting on a brand new warehouse extension to the main factory and an additional commercial mezzanine office area.
Work started on Monday 15th April and is expected to complete before the end of July. The investment will create 5 new jobs at the plant and will result in a state of the art warehousing facility, giving us a fully isolated main production area with brand new office and meeting areas, car parking has been upgraded too.
Commenting on the new extension Richard Martin, production director, said
“This will provide increased space in the production area, which fits perfectly with our plans of further investment in the technology required to meet the ongoing demands of our customers, whilst maintaining profitability.”
The fully isolated production unit alongside our new warehouse will result in greater stock rotation and control, and will enhance the production disciplines and procedures that are critical, not only for all our customers but our current and expanding pharmaceutical clients too.
Falconer print and packaging will be at packaging innovations at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th February 2013.
We will be showcasing the extensive range of print, folding cartons, design (both surface and constructional) and quality produced here at Elland across all our packaging market sectors.
We will feature our new Diana X 115 gluer with inline braille and WH Leary detection and ejection systems and the new braille height reader and dot scanner specifically targeting the legislative requirements of our growing pharmaceutical and healthcare customers.
Details will be available about our new digital proofer. This will give the purchaser point of sale proof quality at a fraction of wet proof cost and information will be on hand regarding our new 3D real vue design and proof concept tool.

Falconer Print & Packaging is the first company in the UK to install a Diana X folder gluer with an in-line Braille unit. This investment fits the company’s ethos of providing high quality packaging in as cost effective manner as possible to meet the demands of its pharmaceutical customers.
Falconer’s Diana X incorporates a Leary Braille scanner which checks the accuracy of every carton going through it - highly advantageous when running at optimum speeds.
A screen readout of the Braille enables operators to perform a visual check, confirm the Braille, and any rejected cartons are ejected from the finishing line without interrupting production. The glue line detection and barcode reader further reduces the possibility of rogue carton contamination and machine downtime.
‘This machine significantly enhances our capabilities’ says Hadyn Bradbury, Managing Director at Falconer. ‘We pride ourselves on being able to provide the very high print quality associated with our cosmetic, giftware and healthcare packaging production but the Diana X gives us the state of the art in-line solution for our pharmaceutical customers.’
He continues, ‘Pharmaceutical packaging represents over 30 percent of our turnover and the volume is growing. We currently produce Braille on the die cutter, but the tooling costs are expensive, and running it on the Diana will be much more cost effective across the range.’
In future, all of the company’s primary customer market sectors - in addition to the pharmaceutical market already affected - could be required to comply with European legislation to meet the needs of the partially sighted. The Diana X puts Falconer in prime position to be proactive in responding to these needs. The machine set up is precise too - the Braille unit is situated immediately after the alignment station, to ensure exact positioning. It uses the male-female method with an etched plate to create the Braille dots. The flexibility of the system enables it to emboss on any panel, and on any size of carton with multiple lines of information. Falconer advise that the German machine was chosen for its robust build quality and value for money, with the length of the machine also offering more options in terms of carton design. Production Director, Richard Martin, adds: ‘It’s a machine that will last. It’s already given us greater flexibility, in terms of faster make ready for a wider variety of carton designs, but its modularity means we can add further options in future.’ ‘It can also interface with Prinect workflows which means better gluer set up times and accurate, real-time data gathering both of which help us to be more efficient and provide our customers with lower costs, accurate information and traceability of each job.’ Plant visits can be arranged by appointment. A number of customers have already been to see the set up for themselves and Commercial Director, John Sherwood, is happy to organise an appointment for anyone interested in a future visit or audit. Mr Sherwood concludes, ‘Our company principles of responsiveness and customer service are perfectly complemented by the addition of the Diana X and our sales team are very excited by the opportunity this gives them and our customers.’
